Pin Up

Synopsis

Originally designed as a total contrast to Cyberchrist, the solo ‘Pin Up’ explores femininity and artificial trappings with a resolutely camp look and a multiplicity of assorted allusions (to glam rock, 1950s pin-ups, geishas, etc.) to end up rejecting the tricks and embracing pure animality. If ‘Cyberchrist’ is a slow descent into death, Pin Up is a blazing ascent toward madness.

“... interpreted by Michael Sears, a dancer characterized by his paradigmatic beauty, Pin Up is revealed as an ode to the body, through the figure of a sex wrapped in a golden dress.  The dancer’s body is actually a sculpture.  On cleared grounds, it is now up to the demon that lies dormant within this flesh to tackle the angel of the stage.”

Le Matin, Philippe Ledent, 1/04/1999
