A performance that questions weight in all its forms: standardized weight, perceived weight, felt weight.
Maël Keppenne (BE)
Five scales become the setting for an experiment where the body takes shape, grows heavier, and is molded. In this stage space, sensuality seeps into movement, into the way objects press against the skin, into the gaze cast upon the body. Each shot becomes a ritual, where desire and body perception intertwine, revealing the porous boundary between what is imposed and what is experienced.
Maël Keppenne (he, him) is a queer artist and writer born in Brussels. His work explores the porosity between body, language, and perception. By questioning norms through an intimate and performative approach, he brings marginalized bodies, unconventional desires, and fragmented aesthetics into play. In 2024, he begins a master’s degree in Literary Creation at La Cambre, where he is writing his novel. In 2023, he created L’amour dans le même bermuda within the company Mauvaise idée, a queer and chaotic DJ-performance exploring friendship through an offbeat lens.
