A research in performance trying to introduce a pictural work to an installation on a place’s scale. The body, in the exercise of slowness, is like a transformation tool of a pictural and sonorous landscape.
Mélody Boulaert
Mélody Boulaert graduated of ESA le 75 in painting. She is bio-engineer in food-processing, and thinks that the making of a beer isn’t very far from the creation of any artistic work – by changing the production parameters, it’s all the result that is transformed. In June 2019 took place her first exhibition at the Atelier 2-9-2, showing her painting from her serie “Etats de faits“. She actually is residing at the brussels’ cultural center Wolubilis.

THE NEXT PERFORMANCE ART GENERATION
Since several years, visual arts schools in French-Speaking Belgium dedicate part of their curriculum to live art: a response to the new dynamics of these practices in the professional field. One can see new generations of artists appearing, taking over the Belgian and international scenes of performance art, with individual or collective works, multiplying collaborations… They don’t make performance art like their elders, they invent new forms, which need new showing spaces.
