“For thirty years I have challenged the ideological framework imposed to shape the lives of women in their different stages of life. Through my work I have faced all the imposed feminine roles, including sexuality, eroticism, beauty, gender, age, love, morality, motherhood… You could say that my performances are true ‘shameful acts.’
Currently I fight against ageism. At 68 years old, I seek to demystify the ‘horror of old age’ by creating my own aesthetic and moral solutions.
Resonance is a performance piece that contains in one piece many of the concepts that I have handled independently.

Rocio Boliver (she, her) is a Mexican performance artist who creates body art about gender, sexuality, pain and pleasure, focused on sexually repressive ideologies towards women. Her work has been presented in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. She studied dance and philosophy and has been working uninterruptedly for 30 years in performance art, focusing on sexually repressive ideologies towards women.
