Sikgu is a Korean word that means “family”. It refers to a relationship not bound by blood but by the act of sharing a meal. Mealtime can be a very intimate moment, but it is also a social event that helps create bonds and form a small community.
Yuna Choi (KR)
This daily act of sharing food is an important aspect of culture. As an essential action for survival, eating has its own rules, influenced by each country’s traditions. For example, there are many customs regarding the use of utensils, the order of a meal, and even table manners, such as whether certain eating sounds are considered polite. Sometimes, these unspoken rules create boundaries and hierarchies at the table, leading to a strange discomfort during meals. You are invited to join Yuna Choi’s temporary family!
Yuna Choi (she, her) is a Korean student studying scenography at La Cambre. Creating narrative atmospheres plays a significant role in her work. She is interested in staging theatrical scenes that are both comedic and tragic. Her performance follows structured rules, much like a game.
