Chris Korda’s electro-rap album “Apologize to the Future” is the first album entirely devoted to climate change, the singularity, economic inequality, intergenerational injustice, antinatalism, and human extinction. The album’s scathing lyrics consist of 1,200 words, all in rhyme and relentlessly focused on the pivotal issues of our time. The lyrics stand on their own as poetry, and Chris will recite them without musical accompaniment.
According to Chris, “We need to realize the truth of what we’ve done. In an eye-blink of geological time, we’ve damaged our life-support system enough to make Earth increasingly uninhabitable even for us, never mind for our nonhuman fellow travelers. Admitting it intellectually isn’t good enough. We need to feel it. We need to grieve for what we’ve destroyed, including our own future. Without remorse there can’t be restitution.”
