Jennie Klein
The term endurance suggests that the body has the ability to perform for a longer period of time, however, this is not always the case. In this talk, the meaning of endurance and its slippery relationship to time/duration is explored in the work of body artists that includes Kris Grey, Alastair MacLennan, Marilyn Arsem, Jason Lim, and He Yungchang.
Jennie Klein is a professor of art history at Ohio University in Athens, OH USA. She writes on contemporary art, performance, and issues around gender and identity. Her current project is The Routledge Companion to Performance Art, with co-editors Lucian O’Connor, Graciela Ovejero Postigo, and Natalie Loveless.
