ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response, BDSM (bondage- discipline-sadism-masochism – to which symbiology do we entrust our total abandonment? Just how far are we willing to yield?
Clémence Péguy (FR)
“MERCI COURAGE” is a one-on-one experience probing the question of consent. Lying down as though on a massage table or an operation bed, the “recipient” hands her/his/their body over to the performer. The relationship between sensory curiosity and risk-taking gradually evolves into one of absolute trust, made feasible only by the prior announcement of each individual interaction and by the explicit and constant possibility for both parties to terminate the performance immediately.
After studying at the Bordeaux Conservatory and professional training in contemporary dance at the CDCN in Toulouse, Clémence Péguy quit France for Brussels and joined the ISAC (Arba-Esa), where she obtained her first bachelor’s degree in choreographic and performance practices. Interested in the question of scenography and the politics of spaces, she began a second bachelor’s degree in interior architecture, also at Arba. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at La Cambre. As such, she has taken the course there in performance and body art.
