During his performance of Love Dynamics in September 2022, Benjamin Muzart ran through the streets of Brussels, chained to the back of a car moving through traffic.
A few days prior to the performance, images from a trial-run instantly went viral after being leaked on TikTok, and then Twitter.

Decontextualised, these images generated thousands of comments and hunches of all sorts; from simple questioning to the expression of hatred toward the image of a man subjected to a dynamic he cannot control. With Pushback, the artist invites you to plunge into a collective mental space and to view commentary on social networks as a reflection of those torments, fears and repressed desires playing out in contemporary Western society.
After taking a master’s degree in cognitive sciences, Benjamin Muzart joined a master’s degree course in art, science and technology in which he began to develop a research approach at the interface of art and science. He then went on to the scenography workshop at La Cambre, where he extended his thinking from a more poetic perspective, notably through his performance work. His multidisciplinary work seeks to create porosity at the place where Cartesian thinking teaches us to see boxes.
