Through a meta-performative process, Zoé Hagen invites you to meet their alter ego, Kombitcha, a (hyper) pop star who hasn’t written any hit yet. By bringing together a punk ted talk, an oversharing chit-chat and a shaky concert, Zoé aims to share their story of metamorphosis and survival.
Zoé Hagen (BE)
“After more than seven years of therapy and an art school degree: I am ready.
Prepare yourself for the great revenge of my inner child! Let’s meet, sit down and talk about trying to survive in a self-destructive world. If I may spoil you a bit, it won’t only be about staying alive, but also about trying to shine bright like a diamond.
Sooo if you sometimes feel like shit, prefer your bed than your friends and would love to become someone else, this one is for you <3 I invite you, dear freaks and lonely souls, to come dream with me, embrace ourselves and prove that our sexiness may save us all.”
More than an intimate and personal confession, their narrative resonates with a generation that has grown up in a fragile society, with an unstable future.
Zoé Hagen (they, them) is a transdisciplinary artist based in Brussels. After two years of theater school, Zoé joined Arba-ESA, where they graduated with a degree in Arts and Choreography (ISAC). Since then, Zoé continues to develop their artistic projects on a personal and collective scale. They use their voice as a militant, restorative and empowering tool.
If you come close enough, you can hear them whisper: ‘DOWN WITH STIGMA AND SYSTEMIC OPPRESSION / FREE QUEERS, FREAKS, ANIMALS & BITCHES !!!’
