The Call of the Darkdance, dance of war, dance of healing, is a performance-ritual that uses symbolic elements to weave a narrative that summons and shows the somatic resilience and transformation of the performers’ bodies, in a committed performative poetry.
It’s up to you to seize this dance of fury, this dance that puts you in a trance, that exorcises.
Moriane Richard (BE)
The Darkdance is a raging dance that emerged from Moriane Richard’s entrails, reconnecting her, inscribing her, telling her story. It was first born on the crowded dance floors of rave parties and refined in her solitudes on the parquet floor of her bedroom, triggering a fascination for the self-healing resources of the body/psyche, expressed in its therapeutic, somatic, spiritual and political aspects.
It subsequently drew on the contributions of Fogo and Lw2. A person with reduced mobility who has suffered chronic pain since childhood, Fogo is a young holistic herbalist who claims and militates for an ecology of resilience and self-love. LW2’s music is Afro-experimental, navigating between European rhythms and African sources, creating unifying and reconciling space-time in a neo-shamanic vein.
Moriane Richard (she, her) is an artist, a dancer and a bodyworker. Cleaning and healing emotions, biological and social heritage are a big part of her research. Through her works she questions concepts such as individual and collective identity , transmission, decolonization and afro-queerness.
Fogo (she, they) is a young holistic herbalist. Their goal is to develop their life by the path of healing and well-being, like her grandmother, indigenous from Venezuela, did. They want to help themselves first being a disabled person and then bring their pure light and wisdom to others as a divine messenger they would love to become.
Producer, singer, performer and DJ, LW2 (she, her) is an eclectic “woman band” who plays across different universes, mixing different Afro-multicultural percussive rhythms.
